It Has Begun

NaNoWriMo has officially commenced:

Title: Bacchanal Rising

Synopsis: Four frat boys on spring break, a thief on the run, two guardians undercover, a mystical vessel incarnate, and a powerful demon seeking to resurrect an ancient evil. What happens when their paths ultimately cross? The unexpected.

Deciding to forgo Daytona Beach along with the rest of their fraternity brothers, Trent, Franklin, Shane, and Graham invite their sullen and uptight classmate Alex and hit the road and head to an exclusive resort for an annual bacchanal festival which set in an old mansion in an off-the-map town of Milford. It is there that they meet Connor Hawk, who is on the lam from the mob as well as the party’s host, the mysterious Vincent.

But what seems like a heavenly getaway soon turns into the trip from hell, for the host Vincent has a more sinister agenda; one that involves using the nonstop orgy as a pagan ritual to free the imprisoned deity Bacchus and unleashing his army of Bacchai to devour the planet. Matters become even more problematic when Connor and the others discover that Alex has a few secrets of his own. In a race against time, the frat brothers, Connor, Alex and a pair of unlikely guardians, must stop Vincent and find a way to stay alive in the process.

Why this story shall rock?

What I thought would initially be a gay erotica has evolved into much more. Part paranormal, part horror, erotica, this story will be written in the spirit of American Gothic, Forbidden Science, the Lair, Queer As Folk, Dante’s Cove, True Blood, or Tales from the Crypt. The story is going to be action-packed with ass-kicking demon slaying and of course the sex. The story will be a bit campy in a few areas, but it’s intended to be a wild romp that’ll be a lot of fun.

This paranormal/horror/erotic hybrid will probably be the most challenging story I’ve penned to date. What started as gay erotica has evolved into a pretty sophisticated tale. Luckily I have the story outlined out, but now it’s a matter of churning out the 50k. I’ve got a lot of stuff going on this month so churning out 2,000 words a day will be a challenge to say the least.

Let Hell Month commence.
